Sperm donation may be a treatment option for

2.Men who have obstructive azoospermia or who have had vasectomy previously and do not want to under surgical sperm 3.collection prior to IVF.
4.Men who have had radiotherapy or chemotherapy or in whom testes have been removed due to cancer/other disease
5.Genetic/Inheritable problems in the male partner

Rotunda Sperm Bank's Directed Donor Program is designed to assist professionals and patients with all aspects of Directed Donor Testing and Processing. We actively recruit our own sperm donors. Sperm donors are carefully screened for infectious diseases. Other criteria for selection of sperm donors are normal semen parameters and that they have fathered children. However there can be no guarantee of fertility and on rare occasions the thawed sperm sample is suboptimal in quality.

Prospective parents can choose the appropriate physical characteristics from the panel of donors so that skin colour, height, eye and hair colour can be matched. We also have collaboration with Cryos, the world’s largest international network of sperm banks. Anonymous caucasian sperm can be offered when required.

Donated sperm may be used in an Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) cycle if there is no female contribution to infertility. Alternatively, it may also be used as part of an IVF cycle. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is recommended to assist fertilisation if the donated sperm is being used in an IVF cycle.
